The company
In 1926, four entrepreneurs, Ceferino Jemein, José María, Enrique
Errazti and Cipriano de Zenitagoya, established JEZ, a company which
was dedicated to metal constructions at the time.
In 1948, and based on the important development that the project achieved, its founder members bought plots of land in Llodio and set up their new facilities there. Production commenced in 1949 and continues in the same location to date.
The crisis that hit the economy during the 80s also affected JEZ, but the company did not merely survive, but emerged out strengthened from the same. In 1994, after merging with the Grupo VAE, the former JEZ became JEZ Sistemas Ferroviarios, S.L.
MFA is an independent company created in 2008, with mass production facilities located in France, of which JEZ is controlling shareholder. MFA means a qualitative step forward because of the extent of automation of the conventional turnout production process.
